Beacon Bolton Counselling Service

What we offer

ONE-TO-ONE COUNSELLING – Anyone aged 16+

Our counsellors provide one-to-one therapeutic support across a wide range of issues.  We also have qualified counsellors experienced in working with people bereaved by suicide. Up to 12 sessions are offered, with each appointment lasting for 50 minutes.  Counselling takes place in a safe and private counselling room at The Bolton Hub in Bolton Town Centre.

People who have a Bolton based GP are eligible for up to 12 free counselling sessions if they self-refer to 1point North West for an assessment.

GROUP THERAPY – Anyone 18+ bereaved by suicide in the North West

Our Bereaved by Suicide Group is a closed counselling group.  We offer 12 free fortnightly sessions of supportive and structured therapy in a small group led by qualified counsellors. Sessions take place at The Bolton Hub in Bolton town centre. Each session lasts for 90 minutes on a scheduled day (currently Saturday mornings).

To reduce the potential for conflict and increase each individual’s willingness to participate more readily; partners, family members and friends cannot attend the same group.  We will ask that they consider whose need is the greatest and start at the first opportunity, and who will defer for a future date.

To join one of our groups, clients can self-refer by calling the Beacon Co-ordinator on 01204 546100 or send an email to
